COLOR SCHEME

Start by picking your favorite holiday color scheme. If the classic red and green speaks to you, that’s great! If you’re looking to expand your palette a bit, here are some of our favorite holiday color schemes:

WHITE + BURGUNDY | Swapping bright red for burgundy is so luxe and will make your holiday home feel extra chic. Rich burgundy looks especially crisp paired with stark white.

SHADES OF BLUE | We’ve seen a lot of gorgeous holiday decor coming out in shades of blue. Think navy, sapphire, and sky blue. Add pops of copper for a warm glow.

SILVER + GOLD | Mixing metals is all the rage and we love how it looks in a holiday home. Imagine a bright green tree adorned in silver and gold baubles. Swoon!

GREEN + CREAM | This color combination is so Scandinavian chic! Green will carry the color of your tree throughout your home. Cream will add in a lovely pop of contrast.

These are just a few ideas to get you started on your holiday home decor journey! As with all home decor decisions remember, if it makes you happy, go for it! Your home should reflect your personal taste.

PICKING DECOR

Once you’ve established your holiday home color scheme it’s time to get decorating! We don’t generally overhaul our entire homes to decorate for the holidays. Instead we like to swap out a few elements here and there to bring a bit of holiday magic into the mix.

Throw pillow covers are an excellent way to quickly take your home from one season to the next. Plus storing a few seasonal covers takes up way less space than storing an entire collection of pillows! Swap your linen or cotton throw pillow covers for velvet, faux fur, or prints in your chosen color scheme. Instant holiday magic!

Candles are one of our favorite ways to transform your home for the holidays. Adding your favorite holiday scents into your home will make everything feel a touch cozier. We love pine scents near the tree (especially if you go faux) and gingerbread near the kitchen. Sniff around until you find your favorite holiday scents.

Holiday accessories come in every shape and style you can imagine! Some of our favorites are bells, bottle brush trees, reindeer, and Christmas villages. These accents are a great way to bring some of your personality and interests into your holiday decor. Bringing in logs or greenery will add an extra touch of holiday warmth.

We hope we’ve been able to inspire you a bit as we near the holiday season! This is such a fun time of year and we love how personal holiday home decorating is. If you need a little guidance, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love to work with you to make your holiday home dreams come true.
