A change of season is a wonderful time to reflect on the decor in your space and evaluate what’s serving you and what’s acting as clutter.

Five Ways to Refresh Your Kitchen This Fall

This month, I wanted to share some of my top tips for refreshing your kitchen — without doing a big overhaul. It’s not necessary. In fact, you’ll probably find that it’s more a change of mindset and learning what you can do without, or what things are most valued and important, that makes the biggest refresh in your home, versus finding new pieces to add or projects to take on.

01 | Add Fresh Greenery/Stems.

Matching your plants to the season is a great way to reinvigorate the decor in your home or customize it to a season without spending a ton of money on kitschy decorations or adornments. I really love plants, especially real or live plants and greenery, but for fall, I find myself adding tall wheatgrass stems as a neutral accent piece to my kitchen. Also, don’t be surprised if you see me collecting colorful leaves as the trees change color and finding a unique or creative way to incorporate them into my decor!

02 | Elevate Your Storage.

Buy some new beautiful containers to store things on open shelves or even in your pantry. Nothing is more appealing to a home chef than a beautifully organized pantry with everything neat and tidy! Plus, re-organizing your kitchen supplies and wares into new storage bins is a great excuse to clean things out and discover what ingredients or tools you haven’t used in a while.

03 | Add Seasonal Produce.

Another great way to refresh your kitchen is to incorporate some seasonal produce into the decor. Naturally, for fall this might look like a small basket of apples on the island or some mini pumpkins of various hues on the counter. You can retain this tip for each new season to continually refresh your kitchen space (berries for winter, lemons for spring, maybe strawberries for summer)!

04 | Uplevel Your Soap Dish.

Soap dishes are quick to get grimy but easy to swap out! If you’re looking for a cheap, quick way to refresh your kitchen space, elevating your soap dish is a simple place to start. Plus, it gives you an excuse to fill that dish with some pretty seasonal soap, or completely replace it with your favorite scent of fall hand soap in a beautiful pump.

05 | Update Your Hand Towels.

My last quick tip for refreshing your kitchen space is to simply trade out your hand towels. Whether you update them for the season or just when you feel like a fresh look, it’s so easy and there are so many beautiful and unique options in all kinds of price points. While terrycloth towels tend to soak up more water, I sometimes like to use linen dishcloths on display in my kitchen to keep things looking classy and timeless. I can always store the more heavy-duty towels in a drawer for easy access when they’re needed to clean up.

I’m such a product of my environment that it’s really instinctual for me to remove things or add elements that I know will serve me better or make my house feel more like home to me and my family.

I love sharing these monthly tips, and I hope you enjoy them, too! As always, I’d love to chat with you! Shoot me a message or follow along on Instagram to learn more from me and my team.
