Fall is here!!! There are so many fun inspirational front porches out there. We decided it might be a good idea to share with you some of our favorite finds.
a pinterest-worthy porch without breaking the bank
These are all super cute, simple ways to have a budget-friendly, Pinterest-worthy, Instagram portable, and if you are super ambitious a family photoshoot front porch… Your neighbors will probably ask to use your porch.
Here at Liz Powell Design, we are loving the simple color schemes of this year’s fall front porches (see below). Love these adorable bats scattered all around the front door. If you have a white house look for small simple Halloween shapes that you can repeat to make a big statement. You can do witch’s hats, bats, rats, or spiders.

choose your focal point
In the first image, they chose to keep it minimal so that your eye is focused on the bats. They didn’t place any other object that takes the focus off those bats.
Pumpkins and gourds come in all different colors, you can find various shades of the same color to achieve a more monochromatic color palette. Place them around the sides of the doormat or trickle them down the stairs. This leads the eye to the front porch.
Finding gourds and pumpkins that are similar shades gives a nice subtle touch of Halloween! But not too over the top. Choosing squashes or uncarved pumpkins gives it a more sophisticated Halloween front porch vibe.
As the crisp air of autumn starts to roll in it’s nice to cozy up the porch by adding some softer textiles. Throws and pillows make a great addition to our front porch seating area. This creates an extension of your home to family, friends, and neighbors.
Let’s not forget about one of our all-time favorite ways to fancy up a boring porch mat. Layer it!!! Adding a bold black and white rug underneath your mat is a great way to add some fun pizazz to your front porch. It doesn’t have to be black and white, but it really makes your mat pop. It’s all about the Layers!!!
We actually have a few in our shop, so stop by and grab them before they are all gone.

other ways to spruce things up
Adding color to the porch can be so fun. Finding large pots that are similar in shades of white really lets the burnt oranges, yellows, and dark green in the plants take the stage.
Some of our favorite fall porch plants are:
Helenium, Chrysanthemums, Rudbeckia, Witch Hazel
We highly recommend going to some of the local nurseries as well. They can arrange front porch pots for you if you don’t consider yourself a green thumb. Our go-to nursery is Freckle Farm in North Logan.
Lots of fun inspiration, have fun, and enjoy decorating your fall front porches. Let the decorating begin…
Happy Fall Y’all!
